He was born in Syros on February 22nd 1985. His height is 2.05m and weight 105kg.

His most important distinctions: 

  • MVP in the Greek Youth All Star in 2006
  • Best Young Player of the Greek League in 2007
  • Five time MVP in the Greek All Star (2007, 2008, 2013, 2014,2018)
  • Greek All – Star Game Slum Dunk Champion in 2007
  • Most improved player of the Greek League in 2012
  • Five time Greek League Best Five 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 και 2017
  • Three time Greek League Champion 2012, 2015, 2016
  • FIBA Intercontinental Cup Champion in 2013
  • Back to Back Euroleague Champion in 2012 and 2013
  • All Euroleague First Team in 2017

The path to excellence 

  • In 2000 he joined Olympiacos BC
  • In the 2006 – 2007 season he was loaned by Olympiacos to Olympia Larissa in the Greek League, where he averaged 11.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. At the Greek All – Star Game that season he won the slum dunk competition and afterwards was voted the Greek League Best Young Player. Following that success he returned to Olympiacos
  • He was selected by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2007 NBA draft
  • He was selected to the senior men’s Greek national basketball team that played at the 2008 Summer Olympics
  • In 2009, he signed a 3-year contract with an NBA escape clause after the second year with the Spanish ACB League club Unicaja Malaga. The same year he won the bronze medal competing with the Greek national team at the Eurobasket 2009
  • He also played at the 2010 FIBA World Championship
  • In 2011 he returned to his previous club, Olympiacos
  • In 2012 he won the Euroleague Championship with a victory over CSKA Moscow where he hit the game – winning shot with 0.7 seconds remaining on the game clock. He then won the Greek Championship, a title which Olympiacos hadn’t won since 1997
  • In 2013 he became a back to back Euroleague champion with Olympiacos with a victory over Real Madrid. The same season he was a member of the national team that competed at the 2012 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament and at the Eurobasket
  • In 2014 he competed with the national team at the FIBA World Cup, while in 2015 and 2017 he was a member of the national team that competed at the Eurobasket tournaments.
  • In 2007 he signed a 3 year contract extension with his team Olympiacos. The same year he competed with the national team at the 2017 Eurobasket.
