He was born in Bulgaria on the 4th of July 1993 and is distinguished in the sport of swimming. His height is 1.98m and weight 87kg.
He holds the National record in the 50m butterfly discipline with the 23.24sec performance at the World Championship of China, surpassing ex national record holder Andreas Bazaios [23.36sec from December 3, 2015]. He also holds the National record at the 50m freestyle discipline with a performance of 21.44sec.

His most important distinctions:

2011:

  • 3rd place at the 50m freestyle event and 4th place at the 4x100m mixed event at the Junior World Championship in Lima, Peru
  • 2nd place in the 50m freestyle event at the Junior European Championship in Belgrade
  • 1st place in the 50m and 4x100m freestyle events and 3rd place in the 100m freestyle event at the Junior Balkan Championship

2012:

  • He participated in the London Olympics where he ranked 31st in the 100m freestyle event
  • 4th and 6th place in the 50m freestyle and 4x100m mixed events respectively at the European Championship held in Debrecen, Hungary

2013:

  • 2nd place in the 4x100m mixed event and 3rd place at the 50m and 4x100m freestyle events at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey

2014:

  • He participated in the European Championship in Berlin where he ranked 7th and 16th at the 50m and 100m freestyle events

2015:

  • He participated in the Kazan World Championship where he ranked 7th in the 50m freestyle event

2016:

  • 4th place at the 50m and 4x100m freestyle events, 4th place at the 4x100m mixed, 11th place at the 100m freestyle and 14th place at the 50m butterfly event at the European Championship held in London
  • He participated for the second time in the Olympic Games, this time in Rio, where he qualified in the semifinals and ranked 13th at the 50m freestyle event, 20th at the 100m freestyle, 10th at the 4x100m freestyle and 15th at the 4x100m mixed event

2017:

  • 7th place at the World Championship of Budapest in the 50m freestyle event, where he scored a record of 21.69 sec

2018:

  • 1st place at the 50m freestyle (breaking his own record with time 21.66sec), 50m butterfly and 4x100m mixed events at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Spain
  • 2nd place at the 50m freestyle event, breaking again his own record with a time of 21.44sec, at the European Championship in Glasgow
    He also competed in the 50m butterfly and 4x100m freestyle events where he won the 4th and 5th place respectively
  • His performance at the World Championship in China at the 50m butterfly discipline set a new national record (23.24 sec) previously owned by Andreas Vazaios (23.36 sec)

2019:

  • National Indoor Champion at the 50m freestyle event
  • 1st place at the 50m freestyle event at the Acropolis Grand Prix with 21.83 sec time winning the qualification to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo
